I just got done washing my savage and thought I would share some tips with you all. After you are done washing your savage blow all of the water off of it with a leaf blower, works great. If you have any tar splatter on the bike put kerosene on it and wipe it off. Do not do this when the engine is hot! I also like to wipe off those dried water spots with kerosene. After your tires dry shine them with Coke Classic, not diet. It gives a nice shine and is not slippery like most tire sauces.

I still have not finished my custom air box. I have all the parts to install my temperature gauge and hope to finish it this week. I have my new seat pattern done I just have to transfer that to the fiberglass and have the skin made for it. I have decided to make floorboards rather than forward controls so that when I see those big bumps I can just slide my feet back and use my legs for support. The floorboards will be made out of stainless steel and shaped like coffins. They will be done in 2 weeks so I will have them for a long trip I am planning. I decided not to get girder forks to lengthen my front-end, even though I found a builder that makes and sells them for about $500. I also found a catalog that sells Paucgho springer front-ends for $528. The reason I am not going to make the change is due to the fact that I can carry my savage on a rack attached to the back of my jeep at its current length. If it were any longer I would have to use my trailer.

Have Fun
